fitness is a lifestyle
When I was asked to move Jermaine Morgan, one of Darien Y’s Personal Trainers who weighs in around 245/250lbs of pure muscle, plus 2 added 25lb plates on the sled for a photo, I said, “There’s no way in HELL that I’ll be able to push this!” I immediately decided that it was out of my range. And, I didn’t want to disappoint myself after coming so far in reaching some of my personal fitness goals.
I was afraid to fail.
Well, after some convincing and motivation around me, I decided it was worth a try. And guess what? I pushed that weight a whole 2 inches! While this was a small distance, it was a big feat. An accomplishment that crushed my own belief of being incapable. Now I have a new goal to train for, and maybe next time, I’ll add another plate.
You see, we all go through this self-doubt from time to time. Whether it’s related to your career, health or relationships, there are going to be hurtles and moments you deem impossible. You will never know what you are capable of unless you try to push past those fears, even if it’s just by two inches…
You will always fail if you don't try.
Right now, you may be thinking of that one thing you have been afraid to try. A pull-up? The Jacobs ladder? A Yoga class? Whatever it is, I want to challenge you to take a step outside of your comfort zone this week and go for it.
Be brave, you might surprise yourself.
Here is an awesome workout to show how fearless you are!
