That gooey, soft, coconut filling wrapped in a chocolate blanket is hard to hate. But we can't go on eating Mounds everyday, all day. So I solved that problem and made these awesome Coconut Balls, that give you a chocolaty coconut fix without the loaded sugar and trans fat.
As a side note though, I didn't solve the "all day" issue. Dessert is still dessert and something to indulge in. The difference is, these Coconut Balls are a nutritious choice compared to a Mounds. They are made with healthy fat, no added sugar or dairy and provide you that bite without guilt. It's kind of like reaching for an apple instead of apple sauce, but you don't eat 8 apples do you? Just some food for thought.
